Artist statement

This collection features oil paintings of the English countryside painted on stretched canvas in an ‘alla prima’ style (using a wet-on-wet technique often in a single session).

Seen on road trips while international travel was limited by COVID-19, the English countryside was a respite from apartment quarantine, and a lovely contrast to the San Francisco city-scape she lived in before moving to England in 2020.

This is Kristen’s first painting collection.
